Ready-to-Use Product Features
Product Highlights
  • Improved Adhesion - IM-Prime increases the adhesion of all self-adhering membranes and, in some cases, even increases the adhesion by as much as four times the original adhesion without primer.
  • Reduces Total Job Time - IM-Prime is formulated to dry tack-free within 2 hours at 77°F (25°C).
  • Environmentally Friendly - IM-Prime eliminates the flammability and toxicity hazards associated with solventbased primers. IM-Prime™ has no irritating or unpleasant odors.

Applications & Uses

Application Method
Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
Application

All surfaces must be in sound condition and free of dirt, debris, and dust. Do not apply to wet surfaces, as this will dilute the primer, reducing its effectiveness. Apply IM-Prime at a rate of 0.5 gal/square (0.21 l/m2 ) to properly prepared substrates using a medium nap roller or spray equipment (a 0.015-0.021 inch spray tip orifice and a minimum spray pressure of 500 psi are recommended). Avoid “puddling” the primer. One coat is recommended. The IM-Prime™ can withstand foot traffic in about 1-2 hours. Once the primer is applied and allowed to dry, install the Imperflex USA Base™ sheet, Imperflex MSA™, Defend™, or MAT40™ system directly to the primed surface. IM-Prime can also be used to promote interply adhesion.

Precautions
  • Do not allow the product to freeze, do not store in temperatures above 120˚F.
  • Do not place in contact with potable water.
  • Do not thin.
  • Exterior use only.
  • Do not use if heavy rain or dew is expected or if temperatures are expected to drop below 50°F within 6 hours of application.
  • Do not install if the outside air temperature is above 95˚F.
  • Primer must be covered within 48 hours of application, or an additional coat of primer must be applied.
