DETENLAB® 240 is a linear alkylbenzene (LAB) resulting from the catalytic alkylation of benzene with linear mono-olefins obtained from the dehydrogenation process of n-paraffins. Its primary use is as a raw material for the production of linear alkylbenzene sulfonic acid (LABSA) through sulfonation reactions, followed by the production of linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS) through neutralization. LAS, a major anionic surfactant, is a common component in household detergents, including laundry powders, laundry liquids, dishwashing products, and all-purpose cleaners, as well as various minor applications in a wide range of industries.
