Product Applications
  • ACCESS® MWR 550 is an excellent impregnating agent for many mineral materials, such as brick, cinder block, sandstone, natural stone or mineral plaster. Depending on the porosity of the substrate, ACCESS® MWR 550 can be diluted with water in a ratio of 1: 9 to 1 : 19. Apply a uniform coat of the dilution to the absorbent surface with a brush, roller or by flooding. To ensure uniformity of the coating, apply “wet on wet”. Dilutions must be processed within 24 hours.
  • The dilution of ACCESS® MWR 550 is also used as a water repellent treatment to protect masonry from rising damp. The diluted chemical is injected, often at pressure, into walls via bore holes. The masonry in the injection area must be soaked completely to mitigate moisture successfully. In some cases of high moisture penetration, ACCESS® MWR 550 can be activated by the additional injection of an alkaline siliconate such as MWR 16 KS to accelerate the build up of a barrier layer.
