Features & Benefits

Product Properties

AFCONA - 5280 is overall the best conventional wetting and dispersing additive. It is economical, yet still offers very good performance in pigment stabilizing. The performance of AFCONA – 5280 is close to that of high molecular weight dispersing agents. AFCONA – 5280 has the following special properties:

  • Very good performance in alkyd based systems like NC, heat-cured paint and air - drying alkyd.
  • Suitable for oil - and solvent-based printing inks. It has very good alcohol solubility.
  • Good co-grinding agent for all solvent-based systems.
  • Combined with the universal resin AFCONA – 1102, this product is recommended for the preparation of universal pigment concentrates. These pigment concentrates have the following advantages: - Easy incorporation (even by hand stirring) in NC, thermoplastic acrylic, CAB and polyurethane - Economical, because AFCONA – 5280 is nearly 100% active - Good pigment stability for most pigments, even with PV23

Note: AFCONA – 5280 will become slightly hazy at temperatures below 5° C. This will not influence the performance of the product.
