Pangel B5 is a powdered additive with a high thickening and anti-settling capacity for low-polarity systems, particularly recommended for systems based on both aliphatic solvents and mineral or synthetic oils. Pangel B5 is particularly recommended to provide thixotropic, suspension, and sagging-resistance properties to systems based on both aliphatic-type solvents and mineral or synthetic oils.

Functions: Rheology Modifier, Thickener, Viscosity Modifier

Features: Anti-Settling, Excellent Dispersibility, High Temperature Resistance, Sagging Resistance, Thixotropic

Key Features

Pangel B5 shows high thickening capacity in low polarity systems without the use of a polar activator for its dispersion.
Use of Pangel B5 has the following advantages against other conventional additives:

  • Lubricant greases: High thickening capacity; good stability at high temperature. Simpler manufacturing process, since polar activator co-additives are avoided.
  • Drilling mud: Increased dispersibility and stability at high temperatures; high thickening and suspension capacity.
  • Others: Control of sagging and dripping; improves stability.
Product Highlights

Pangel B5 has been developed to achieve an easy dispersion in mineral oils without the need of polar activators. Cowles, dissolvers, silverson-type equipment, colloidal mills, are appropriate to achieve a good dispersion. In general, the entirety of Pangel B5 must be added in the entire formulation with a moderate agitation until appropriate wetting of the product has been achieved. Once all solids of the formulation have been added, dispersion of the product will proceed homogenizer.

Greases 8.0% - 12.0%
Drilling mud 1.0% - 2.0%
Others 0.2% - 3.0%
