Deco-Chem Astrolex

Astrolex is a tough, low-odor ink for plastics. Although designed orginally for polycarbonate, it adheres to many other plastics, including pressure-sensitive vinyl and styrene. Ease of application is one of the most distinctive characteristics of Astrolex. The smooth and light consistency allows a clean cutting action during the squeegee traverse. A clean screen breakaway is achieved, followed by instant leveling to a very high gloss.

Application: ATX inks are provided at a ready to use viscosity and can be modified for roll/coil coating. Pretests are recommended prior to production run.

Properties

Stencil: Use a lacquer proof or direct emulsion film, photographic, or water-soluble hand-cut stencil.
Screen: 200 to 300 mesh recommended for most applications.
Additives: ATX50 Flow Additive, ATX94 Thinner and ATX95 Retarder
Cleaner: ATX96 Wash-Up

Technical Details & Test Data

Cure Parameters: Air or jet dry in 4 to 20 minutes depending on racking procedure and shop conditions. Proper air flow through the racks will maximize air drying. Force drying may be achieved at 120 to 150°F in seconds depending on ink deposit.

Storage & Handling

Shelf Life: 6 Months
Storage Conditions: Ink should be stored in a metal can at room temperature (75°F). Inks previously used for printing runs should be stored in a separate container to avoid cross contamination. Ink has a minimum shelf life of 6 months from date of manufacture if the above guidelines are followed and there has been nothing added to the ink.
