Applications & Uses

Applications

It adheres instantly and is designed to yield a 100% cohesive failure under both wet and dry conditions. It will bond to:

  • Polyethylene (HDPE)
  • Polyester (Mylar™)
  • Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
  • Glass
  • Wood
  • Aluminum
  • Steel

Because of its excellent adhesion to most substrates, resistance to chemical attack, resiliency, creep resistance and its clean working properties, 570 may be used in almost any sealing application or as a laminating adhesive when applied as a 1/32-inch thick tape. The following examples are typical of the wide range of possible applications.

  • Laminating adhesive for PVC, HDPE, joint compound, dry wall, concrete and laminates such as Formica®.
  • Windows, panels and mullions in curtain wall and commercial building construction.
  • Plate glass bedding.
  • A seal for shower doors, for joints between metal frames and tile walls.
  • Can be used wherever a freeze thaw material is required in refrigeration.
  • A seal for various types of metal lap joints.

Surfaces where 570 is applied need not be completely clean, although they should be dry. In most instances the aggressive adhesion of 570 will accumulate over time. Materials should be tested in the intended application for product suitability. 570 is chemically inert and non-toxic. It is non-corrosive to paint, metal, aluminum or plastic and will not swell rubber.
