Solkem 3840 is a short oil hydroxyl and water dispersible alkyd resin. This resin shows a fast drying, very good adhesion and excellent corrosion and water resistances. It needs to be neutralized with ammonia or triethylamine before addition of water.

Solkem 3840 targeted applications are specifically fast air-dry topcoats and primers. It can also be blended with amino resin for bake solidify type coating.

Storage & Handling

Storage Conditions

Solkem 3840 should be kept in the original containers or in stainless steel, aluminum or plastic tanks. Ordinary steel tanks with a corrosion -proof lining can also be used. The containers should be kept closed to prevent evaporation of the water and the formation of a skin on the surface. The product should not be exposed to frost (<5°C) or to temperatures exceeding 30°C. Under normal conditions, the product can be stored for twelve months with no significant loss of its properties, but it cannot be guaranteed for a longer time.
