Hemp shells come from the de-hulling of hemp whole seeds. The protein content of the shells is up to 15% and the fiber content is up to 60%. The hemp shells have a neutral flavor but pack a nice crunch! The shells are mostly milled and used in cooking. After milling the shells, the product is widely known as hemp fiber. The product consist of dietary fibers and are therefore widely used as a food additive mainly to help with digestion issues among other things. Hemp shells are also very popular among milk producers. They're being used as a source of fiber to give the animals a healthy and necessary wholesome food.
