Let's talk about hemp!

Nordic Hemp Cooperation was founded in 2017 by the 5 biggest hemp farmers in Estonia. In 2018 we built a-state-of-the-art hemp production facility capable of sorting, de-hulling and oil pressing. It is the biggest de-hulling factory in Europe with zero-waste production. Estonia is the 3rd biggest hemp producer in Europe and more than half of our entire country’s harvest is being produced by our members and partners. Total ha more than 6000 per year. We offer a wide range of products ranging from hulled hemp seeds and hemp seed oil to hemp fiber and hemp feed oil. Furthermore, we are one of the few reliable producers of high-quality organic hemp protein 70%. We are certified under ISO 22000 and the Organic label, and sell our products in bulk or under a private label. To continuously process high-quality hemp products, we also continue to ramp up our supply of hemp year by year. Our goal is to become the #2 biggest hemp producer in Europe in the upcoming years. We may be a small country, but we are known for making big things happen. Also there is a lot of arable land in Estonia, which helps us turn our vision into reality.

Hemp shells come from the de-hulling of hemp whole seeds. The protein content of the shells is up to 15% and the fiber content is up to 60%. The hemp shells have a neutral flavor but pack a nice crunch! The shells are mostly milled and used in cooking. After milling the shells, the product is widely known as hemp fiber. The product consist of dietary fibers and are therefore widely used as a food additive mainly to help with digestion issues among other things. Hemp shells are also very popular among milk producers. They're being used as a source of fiber to give the animals a healthy and necessary wholesome food.

We grow all our hemp wholeseeds ourselves in Estonia. Our cooperation members have been growing hemp for 14 years. Thanks to our experience of growing hemp we have the know-how to ensure supreme quality at all times. Hemp wholeseeds are considered one of the most beneficial plant based nutritious seeds, because of high quality plant-based protein and omega fatty acids. Hemp wholeseeds come from the female hemp plant. The hemp seed is a nut with a greenish, brownish, black-gray shell. When the seeds are harvested, they go to sorting and then to drying. After drying we make the extra effort and clean them optically. This process gives us the opportunity to offer our clients the very best purity seeds up to 99.9%. Thanks to our pure Nordic climate Estonia is an ideal place for the hemp plant to grow.

Our 70% Hemp Protein is produced from hemp hearts by using a patented process. There's no other way of putting this: in front of you is one of the best mechanically produced proteins on the market. The mechanical is an important aspect because our bodies absorb it significantly better than chemically processed proteins. 70% Protein is mostly used to raise the level of protein in different foods. We produce green hemp in the process of de-hulling the hemp seeds. It consists of pieces of hemp hearts and the layer between the shell and the hemp heart. The taste of the product is a bit stronger than hemp hearts and consists of up to 34% of plant based protein. A very delicious product. We mostly use this product to make 50% protein powder but it's a great product to use otherwise as well. You can often see the same picture of this product being used when using hulled hemp seeds, which is due to the fact that there are different purity levels. We use our optical sorter to take this part out of the final hemp hearts making our hemp hearts the purest on the market with a purity of 99.9%. If you're searching for an alternative for hemp hearts, this product may be one of the best options. Very similar, but with a memorable, distinct taste.

Hemp cake comes from pressing the oil out of hemp whole seeds. The solid part which is left from the pressing is called hemp seed cake. Hemp cake contains up to 35% protein. The cake lends itself to being used as feed for animals that need to gain weight, get fit, produce more milk, have healthy siblings etc.. The cake is highly nutritious. Hemp cake is used for horses, cattle, pigs, cows, poultry and even with pets for example dogs. One of our customers uses it with cows, and the cows give significantly more milk when dosing the correct amount. The product is also often being used in the market to make 30% protein powder or hemp flour. However, since it's produced from hemp whole seeds, the seeds shells are bitter, rendering the end product equally so.

Our Hemp seed oil is made from cold-pressing organic hemp whole seeds. The oil is extracted only by cold-pressing method, thereby preserving all the nutritional values Omega 3, Omega 6, Omega 9 fatty acids and other vitamins. Hemp oil is mostly used as a food ingredient, immune booster or for example to cure your skin irritations. It has a very good nutty flavor, so you can use it adding it to salads, vegetables, pizza, hummus or even ice cream because it gives ice cream a lovely nutty flavor. Hemp oil can be used directly on your skin if you have any irritation or dry patches that you want to soothe quickly. To preserve the nutritional value of hemp seed oil, you should use it cold. To strengthen your immune system just take one spoonful per day, especially when you are not big fan of fish.
