Evonik Triethyl Orthoacetate (TEOA) is extensively employed in the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients and serves as water-trapping agents or in the creation of specialized esters. These orthoesters are not manufactured under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) but adhere to exceptionally stringent specification parameters that can be customized to meet specific customer needs.

Dynasylan® MTMS is an alkyltrialkoxysilane, holds a pivotal role in sol-gel systems. It appears as a colorless, low-viscosity liquid. Notably trifunctional, all three alkoxy groups possess hydrolytic capability, while the methyl group introduces organic character. Hydrolysis instigates the formation of silanol groups, which subsequently engage in condensation reactions to establish robust siloxane bonds (-Si-O-Si-). This condensation process coincides with hydrolysis after a threshold of silanol groups emerges. Hydrolysis and condensation rates depend on pH, concentration, solvent, temperature, and the catalyst.

Dynasylan® MTMS

Dynasylan® PTMO exhibits trifunctional behavior as all three alkoxy groups can hydrolyze. This compound also features a propyl group that imparts hydrophobic attributes to sol-gel coatings. Hydrolysis initiates silanol group formation, leading to subsequent condensation reactions that yield stable siloxane bonds (-Si-O-Si-). Condensation progresses alongside hydrolysis, provided a certain amount of silanol groups are present. The speed and ratio of hydrolysis and condensation hinge on factors like pH, concentration, solvent, temperature, and catalyst.

It is produced via a proprietary catalytic process and is categorized under Technologies as Base Chemicals and Intermediates, belonging to the product family of halogenated solvents.

POLYCAT® 8 is a tertiary amine catalyst used in a wide range of rigid polyurethane foam applications. It serves as a standard catalyst for a broad range of rigid foams, including continuous and discontinuous applications such as rigid slabstock, board laminate, and refrigeration formulations. AEROSIL® R 202 is a hydrophobic fumed silica grade, treated with a polydimethylsiloxane. This product can be used in defoamer formulations for sedimentation stabilization and due to its high hydrophobicity as defoaming component.

AEROXIDE® TiO₂ P 25 isa fine-particulate, pure titanium dioxide (TiO₂) with high specific surface area and marked aggregate and agglomerate structure. Because of its high purity, high specific surface area, and unique combination of anatase and rutile crystal structure, the product is suitable for many catalytic and photocatalytic applications. Its structure also makes it suitable for use as an effective UV filter.
