- Recommended Applications
- POLYCAT® 8 is a standard catalyst for a broad range of rigid foams.
- Major applications include all continuous and discontinuous applications such as rigid slabstock, board laminate and refrigeration formulations.
- POLYCAT® 8 can be batched with polyols or metered as a separate stream.
- As POLYCAT® 8 has low water solubility, pre-blends containing high water levels must be checked for phase stability.
- POLYCAT® 8 may be used in conjunction with suitable co-catalysts from the DABCO®, POLYCAT® and/or KOSMOS® range, based on specific formulation requirements.
- In PIR formulations, POLYCAT® 8 can be used as co-catalyst in conjunction with trimerization catalysts such as products of the KOSMOS® and DABCO® TMR series.
- POLYCAT® 8 and potassium/metal catalyst should not be pre-blended as it might lead to incompatibilities.
- Separate dosing and/or blending into the polyol is preferred.
- The optimal concentration will depend on specifics of the formulation.
