- ROHACELL® XT can be easily thermoformed or CNC machined to meet customer requirements, bringing tremendous manufacturing advantages.
- High precision, pre-shaped and ready-to-use foam cores in complex or simple geometries can also be supplied by the ROHACELL® Shapes Department.
Applications & Uses
- Composites Processing Methods
- For the Most Demanding Process Conditions
ROHACELL® XT is a closed-cell rigid foam based on polymethacrylimide (PMI) chemistry that is completely free of CFC’s and is engineered to meet extreme and demanding processing requirements.
- Processing and Production
- Of all the ROHACELL® grades, it is the grade that is best suited to withstand the most demanding process conditions: curing temperatures of up to 180 °C (356 °F) and pressures as high as 0.45 MPa (65 psi).
- After heat treatment, ROHACELL® XT-HT can even be used at temperatures of 190 °C (374 °F) and pressure of 0.7 MPa (102 psi) dependent upon density. Typical curing temperatures of BMI resin system of up to 210 °C (410 °F) can be applied in a pressureless post-cure process.
- These extreme properties make ROHACELL® XT the ideal foam for use with BMI resins, among other materials.
- ROHACELL® XT foam is suitable for autoclave technologies, vacuum infusion, RTM and VARTM processes.
