It demonstrates superior resistance to sulfation poisoning and hydrothermal aging, ensuring long operational life while maintaining consistently high conversion. Typically loaded in part of the first reactor, the catalyst also provides benefits in second and third reactors, especially downstream of direct-fired reheaters or under conditions prone to sulfation.
