Finoric LLC Calcium Lactobionate FCC

Finoric Calcium Lactobionate FCC is a free-flowing white to cream-colored powder. It is easily converted into double salts such as chloride, bromide, and gluconate. When spray-drying, it is anhydrous; when crystallization is used, it is dihydrate. It is soluble in water but not soluble in alcohol or ether. It decomposes at a temperature of about 120°. A 1:10 aqueous solution has a pH between 6.5 and 7.5.

Identification
A. The infrared absorption spectrum of a potassium bromide dispersion of the sample, previously dried at 105C for 8 h, exhibits relative maxima at the same wavelengths as those of a similar preparation of USP Calcium Lactobionate Reference Standard.
B. A sample gives positive tests for Calcium.
