Product Applications

GalSORB Avobenzone is a widely used UV-A absorber, utilized in association with recognized UV-B absorbers such as Galaxy 2932 (Octyl Methoxycinnamate) and GalSORB Octocrylene (Octocrylene) in everyday cosmetic preparations like creams, lotions, etc. GalSORB Avobenzone can also be used in sunscreen preparations where an adequate concentration of both filters permits to obtain an excellent protection by blocking UV-A / UV-B radiations. It can be used in various other applications such as:

  • In protective hair care formulations
  • As a photo-antioxidant to protect products from photo-oxidation
  • To quench phototoxic skin reactions initiated by weak phototoxic materials
  • In medicated skin care and protective skin tone preparations
  • In make-up creams and lotions
Usage Level

GalSORB Avobenzone should be used in concentrations between 1 - 3% in sunscreen preparations while in everyday cosmetic preparations, the concentration should be between 0.5 - 1.0 %.

  • Keep container tightly closed in dry, naturally ventilated storage area below 40°C and protected from light (keep container away from direct sunlight).
  • Eliminate ignition sources.
  • In original, sealed containers, the product can be stored for at least five years.
  • Metallic ions can cause diskoloration, so avoid iron drums.
  • Incompatible with formaldehyde and formaldehyde donor preservatives.
  • A bright yellow color develops when formulated with PABA and its esters.
  • Stacking of paper fiber drums: 25 drums per pallet (1+4 stacking).
  • During storage do not stack one pallet above the other.
