SR pigments and fillers are coated with a hydroxyl terminated silsesquioxane network that improves adhesion to skin and hair. SR pigments are well suited for use in eye make-up formulations. They are hydrophobic, yet are not overly sensitive to oils including sebum.
- Water repellency
- Low oil absorption
- Forms high solids dispersions
- Improves wear
- Improves skin adhesion
- Improves compressibility
- Recommended for long wearing eye area products
- SR Treatment Benefits
- Superior skin adhesion
- Water repellency
- Low oil absorption
- Provides long wear
- Higher loading capacity
- Product Highlights
- Trimethylsiloxysilicate (SR)-Treated Pigments and fillers provide superior adhesion to skin and hair.
- SR pigments are best candidates to be used in long-wearing and water-resistant makeup.
- They are hydrophobic yet are not overly sensitive to oils including sebum.
- Surface Treatment Benefits
- Provides long wear
- Lowers oil absorption
- Improves skin adhesion
- Enhances water repellency
- Facilitates dispersion processing

- Formulation Guideliness
- Use up to 0.10% for color correction
- More cost effective than organic pigments
- Ultramarine Pink is the only UV and heat stable “red” pigment permitted for use around eyes
- Ultramarines have low hiding power; use opacifiers to optimize
- Over-processing may decrease color saturation of products
