Bisomer® BZMA is an aromatic mono-functional methacrylate. It is low viscosity and hydrophobic; it is particularly suitable as a reactive diluent in adhesives, sealants, inks and coatings. It can be used as a co-monomer in PMMA based acrylic formulations to increase the impact resistance, hydrophobicity and structural integrity of resins, composites and coatings. It is also particularly useful as a replacement for styrene in unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins used in a wide range of applications including chemical fixings and composites. Due to its high refractive index, Bisomer® BZMA is also suitable for cast lenses, optical fibers, transparent laminates and other applications where clarity is a key requirement.
