Bisomer® LMA is a hydrophobic, mono-functional methacrylate monomer with a low Glass Transition Temperature (Tg) and is excellent as a flexibiliser and plasticiser. Bisomer® LMA is based on a natural form of lauryl alcohol. The product is 76.1% bio-based (based on percentage of renewable carbon). Bisomer® LMA is mostly used in the automotive industry for viscosity modification of lubricating oils. However, due to its hydrophobic nature and flexibilising properties, Bisomer® LMA is also extensively used in anaerobic adhesives, vacuum impregnation of aluminum castings, sealants and pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs).
