Purple Haze Emulsion is a naturally derived, THC free, multifaceted cosmetic ingredient that encapsulates the powerful activity of broad-spectrum cannabinoids from the hemp plant into an elegant fluid dispersion. The unique, lightweight fluid absorbs quickly leaving skin soft, hydrated, rejuvenated and protected. When used in formulations, it improves esthetics, enhances stability and boosts biocompatibility of the otherwise difficult to formulate broad spectrum cannabinoids. Coupled with Purple Haze Emulsion’s significant efficacy as an active ingredient and ease of formulation makes this ingredient truly a “far out” formulation solution.
MITOCHONDRIAL RESPIRATION:
CELL SURVIVAL When human dermal fibroblasts are deprived of essential nutrients it creates a stressed state, resulting in decreased metabolic activity. This can lead to apoptosis (programmed cell death). In vitro testing shows Purple Haze Emulsion significantly increases mitochondrial respiration by over 50% at a very low concentration of 1.5µg/ml. Bioactivity at low concentrations is very important in cosmetic actives that target fibroblasts. It was notably active in a broad dose range from 1.5 to 8µg/mL and even at a much higher concentration of 1000µg/mL lacked cytotoxicity.
GENE EXPRESSION PCR ARRAY
- Gene expression analysis shows Purple Haze Emulsion significantly upregulates SFRP1, while promoting the expression of Aquaporin-9.
- Aquaporin-9 upregulation signals improved moisturization, as well as skin oxygenation and epidermal differentiation.
- Upregulation of SFRP1 signals inhibition of the Wnt pathway. Such activity has been reported to result in inhibition of melanogenesis and keloid formation.
- It is interesting to note that significantly more RNA was collected from the cells treated with Purple Haze Emulsion, which gives further proof to its metabolism boosting activity.
