Triethyl Phosphate (TEP) is soluble in ethanol, ether, benzene and other organic solvents. It is also soluble in water, but it will gradually hydrolyze as the temperature rises. It is widely used as a plasticizer for rubber and plastics, as a raw material for the preparation of agricultural pesticides, as an ethylating agent, and as a catalyst for the production of ketene.
