Wiping Procedure

  1. The mold surface must be thoroughly cleaned of all remnants of waxes, separators and sealants. We recommend Chemlease® Mold Cleaner EZ. To check the purity of the mold, stick a piece of adhesive strip on the mold surface. There should be no appreciable resistance when removing.
  2. Soak clean 100% cotton cloth with desiccant (not too wet) and apply a smooth film. Only cultivate an area of 0.6 m² at a time.
  3. As soon as the film begins to dry in the corners (after 15-20 seconds) rub the still slightly damp surface with a clean, dry cotton cloth with circular motions from outside to inside until the film is dry and clear (note).
  4. Repeat the above steps until the entire mold surface has been worked. In an older form, only one layer is needed (two layers in a new or "green" form. Wait 15 minutes between the first and second layers).
  5. Allow to harden for about 1 hour before applying the topcoat.

Spray Procedure

  1. The mold surface must be thoroughly cleaned of all remnants of waxes, separators and sealants. We recommend Chemlease® Mold Cleaner EZ.
  2. When spraying, use a clean hand spray gun or a clean, dry compressed air spray system. It is important that all containers and spray accessories are thoroughly cleaned and dry. Clean contaminated containers at least twice with a suitable cleaning agent.
  3. Keep the spray guns 25- 38 cm away from the mold and spray a thin, even film. The film should not run or drip (overdose is to be avoided).
  4. As soon as the film begins to dry in the corners, rub the still damp surface with a clean, dry cotton cloth with circular motions from outside to inside until the film is dry and clear (note).
  5. Repeat the above steps until the entire mold surface has been worked overlapping. Normally only one layer is required on a molded form (two coats in a new or "green" form. Wait 15 minutes between the first and the second coating).
  6. Have about 1 hour to harden before applying the topcoat.

Important: The recommended number of mold coatings as well as drying and crosslinking times are general guidelines, determined from a variety of applications and design conditions. Under special conditions such as e.g. extreme shape geometries or low humidity may require longer networking times or a higher number of layers as indicated.

Storage & Handling

Storage

Do not store above 50°C. Keep containers tightly closed to prevent contamination and evaporation. If the product is stored in the cold, it must be brought to room temperature before use. The material is clear without precipitation. If it is milky or grape, it is contaminated and should not be used anymore.
