Chemlease

Chemlease® 15 Sealer EZ is a mold sealer for conditioning and sealing porous or damaged molds. Chemlease® 15 Sealer EZ can also be used as a primer for new or refurbished molds.

Chemlease® LFC 2208W supports the demands for rapid prototyping because it cures at room temperature in minutes, permitting a quick and simple approach to sealing masters, plugs, patterns, low volume and splash molds. Chemlease® LFC 2208W provides a uniform surface, replacing polyester or epoxy fillers and reducing the overall cost of prototyping.

Chemlease® Sealer 2697 is a solvent based semi-permanent mold sealer for the composites industry that allows for easy application. The product should be applied very thinly to the mold surface. When hardening, the sealer forms a non-porous layer that is firmly bonded to the surface of the mold, the quality of the mold and the degree of gloss remain unchanged.

Chemlease® Sealer 2766W is a water-based sealer designed to treat both the chemical and physical bonding sites found on every mold surface. Chemlease® Sealer 2766W delivers a durable film with superior abrasion resistance. Chemlease® Sealer 2766W eliminates the break-in time for new molds and reduces mold down time by extending the number of releases between cleaning cycles. When applied in conjunction with the appropriate semi-permanent release agent, Chemlease® Sealer 2766W provides multiple, effortless releases.

Chemlease® MPP are adhesion promoters and mold primers for plastic and metal molds, suitable e.g. for substrates made of polyester (gelcoat and non-gelcoat processes), epoxy or phenolic resin. MPP are very good pore fillers, but do not replace the use of release agents. Using it without a release agent can lead to significant damage to the tool. MPP products are also used to repair and refresh stressed mold surfaces. Chemlease® Release Agents (all) should be applied to primers only after curing. Spray application is mostly used for new (green) shapes, touch-ups are done manually wipe on / leave on or wipe on / wipe off.

Chemlease® Sealer was developed as a base coat for the application of release agents. Chemlease® Sealer seal microporous structures and support the separating effect of the release agent.

Chemlease® MPP 2684W has been formulated to seal molds and tooling in the composites sector, both FRP and advanced composites. It is suitable as a mold sealer and adhesion promoter for plastic and metal molds, including substrates made of polyester and vinyl ester (gelcoat and non-gelcoat processes), epoxy or phenolic resin, BMI, PU and most metals. Chemlease® MPP 2684W is an excellent sealer but cannot be used as a release agent. Using Chemlease® MPP 2684W without a suitable mold release agent may damage the mold.
