"The group Hellenic Protein SA was founded in 1995 with the aim of creating high quality Greek protein milk products as well as PDO cheese products. able to face tough and persistent international competition. This effort had two main axes. On the one hand to create state-of-the-art high-tech production units in the field of food ingredients while providing a solution to a huge ecological problem and on the other hand a cheese factory that in addition to operating as a production unit also operates as a center for research and development of new products. The development of the group took place in a short period of time and within six years completed the construction of 4 factories with a total investment cost of 30 million EURO. The implementation of the objectives was carried out with complete success utilizing 1,000 tons of whey per day for the production of protein products of biological and high added value. The factories of the group are geographically distributed to cover all the needs of whey processing in Greece. Epirus Proteins SA in Ioannina, Proteins of Central Greece and ""AGRAFA"" in Karditsa, Macedonian Proteins SA in Kilkis and Achaean Proteins SA in Kalavrita. Also in the Group belongs the company Protein Engineering (former NIRO HELLAS ABETE), a company with extensive experience in the supply of equipment and know-how in the field of dairy."
