SYNTHALEN® CH is a thickening agent. SYNTHALEN® CH is a benzene-free synthetic polymer that is well known and widely used in the cosmetic industry as a thickener and suspending agent due to its safety and versatility. SYNTHALEN® CH dispersions have a high viscosity and a high clarity (see Fig. 1 and 2). As a result, it is ideal for creating sparkling and clear gels as well as stabilizing emulsions. If the proper neutralizing agent is used, very clear gels can be obtained in the presence of high amounts of organic solvents (e.g., ethanol). The typical percentage of use ranges between 0.1 and 1.5 percent, depending on the type of formulation and final desired viscosity. SYNTHALEN® CH is a 3V Sigma product.
