Inland Coatings RC 1650 Acrylic Seam Compound

RC 1650 Acrylic Seam Compound is a high quality, high solids, acrylic elastomeric seam sealer designed to bridge and seal seams, gutters, vent pipe flashings, air conditioning units and expansion joints for all types of roofing substrates. RC 1650 has excellent weatherability and ultraviolet resistance. RC 1650 also offers a flexible, durable sealer with excellent resistance to mechanical or chemical attacks.

Surface Preparation
  • RC 1650 should be applied only to clean, dry, sound surfaces free of loose particles or other foreign matter.
  • Over metal surfaces that show signs of oxidation, rust should be removed by wire brushing if necessary after pressure washing.
  • A primer is required over such areas, as well as over areas that may have existing caulking.
Application Instructions
  • RC 1650 may be applied by brushing or troweling.
  • RST Seam Tape or RPM Polyester Mesh is recommended over cracks or bridges that exceed 1/16”.
  • Apply at a rate of 50 wet mils maximum.
  • Application should be suspended immediately and our technical service personnel contacted if the results being obtained are less than desirable.
Coverage Rates

Approx. 300 fasteners per gallon; 85 linear feet of seams at 4” wide.

Limitations & Precautions
  • RC 1650 is a water-based acrylic seam compound that will freeze and become unusable at temperatures below 32ºF.
  • Protect from freezing during shipment and storage.
  • Do not store material at temperatures below 45ºF.
  • Do not apply RC 1650 at temperatures below 50ºF or of there is a chance of temperatures falling below 32ºF within a 24-hour period.
  • Do not apply RC 1650 over wet substrates or when inclement weather is imminent.
