    Product Highlights

An appealing and efficient coloristic design of polyurethane parts and foams is an important marketing instrument and generates significant added value.

In contrast to conventional pigment pastes, the products of the Moltopren ® S series developed on the basis of reactive dyes are not subject to any application restrictions. They can be used for the production of polyether as well as polyester-based flexible polyurethane block foams with the highest quality and safety requirements.

The requirements of the consumer goods ordinance for BLS / skin contact, the toy standard (standard EN 71-3 / sections EN 71-5, EN 71-7, EN 71-9 are excluded) and the requirements of the Ökotex ordinance are met. A pre-registration according to REACH is available.

In contrast to conventional polyol-based pigment pastes, Moltopren ® S reactive dyes are incorporated into the polyurethane matrix via hydroxy-functional groups. Once installed, they can no longer migrate, bleed or extracted through a wide variety of media.

Under the usual conditions of use in block foam, these reactive dyes are completely soluble and do not cause any foam problems that can often occur when using pigment pastes with a high pigment content or at higher dosages (e.g. pinholes, foam cracks, delayed rise and setting times, reduced heights of rise , Shrinkage etc.).

In liquid CO 2 foaming (Novaflex process) for the production of foams with low spatial densities, pigment pastes usually cause problems due to the solids content. With Moltopren ® S reactive dyes, on the other hand, it is possible to color foams with this technology without any problems. When these dyes are used, the foams have a homogeneous structure and thus an improved product quality is achieved.

Due to the very high color strengths, the excellent brilliance and the low viscosity setting of the Moltopren ® S reactive dyes, they have important application advantages and thus a high cost efficiency compared to the pigment pastes available on the market.

With the available primary colors red, yellow and blue, all essential basic tones and numerous mixed tones can be represented for the block foam application.

We are continuously working on expanding the product range.

    Your Benefits At A Glance
    • High cost efficiency compared to pigment pastes and commercially available products
    • Foams with very high color strengths and excellent brilliance can be realized
    • No application restrictions when used in polyether and polyester-polyurethane flexible foams
    • Conforms to consumer goods regulation, toy standard, Ökotex regulation, REACH (pre-registration)
    • Complete installation in the polyurethane matrix> no migration, no bleeding etc.
    • No foam defects (pinholes, cracks, shrinkage, etc.) even at higher coloring heights
    • Suitable for liquid CO 2 foaming (Novaflex)

    Dosing and Processing

Usual coloring levels are 0.1 to 3.0% (based on the polyol component) depending on the application.

A combination of the individual Moltopren ® S reactive dyes as well as mixing with Moltopren ® color pigment pastes is possible.

The reactive dyes can be processed with the usual metering units.
