It is a rich source of phenolic compounds such as phenolic acids as well as anthocyanins, proanthocyanidins and other flavonoids, while foranthocyanins, there are mainly six anthocyanins were detected with the major peak identified as cyanidin3-glucoside. Five additional anthocyanins characterized as cyanidin 3,5-diglucoside, cyanidin3-rutinoside, pelargonidin 3-glucoside,peonidin3-glucoside, and peonidin 3-rutinoside.
