GlobalTech® AquaSonic® Aqueous Cleaner for Surface Mount Applications – Concentrate (SMA) is a proven, aqueous cleaning product for removing solder paste and/or SMD adhesives from stencils and misprinted circuit board assemblies. SMA is a concentrated mixture of water-dilutable solvents and specialty surfactants that have been specially formulated to be diluted, low foaming, and free rinsing. It is also effective in removing water soluble, rosin, no clean and lead-free solder flux residues. It contains no monoethanolamine (MEA), halogens or heavy metals.

SMA is an ideal cleaning agent for electronics manufacturers who want to clean adhesives and pastes in one cleaning process or replace flammable/combustible solvents or alkaline-based cleaners.

Method of Use

Ultrasonic Cleaning

  • Stencil / Misprint Cleaning - use at a 5-15% concentration diluted in water; temperatures ranging from 100-130°F / 38-54°C; 3-10 minute cleaning cycle dwell time; rinse using water at 100-120°F / 38-49°C; dry using heated forced air.
  • Defluxing - use at a 5-25% concentration diluted in water; temperatures ranging from 110-130°F / 43-54°C; 2-10 minute cleaning cycle dwell time; rinse using water at 100-120°F / 38-49°C; dry using heated forced air.
