Technical Details & Test Data
- Technical Details
Microcrystalline waxes consist of saturated aliphatic hydrocarbons. It is different from paraffin waxes in having much finer crystals. So that microcrystalline wax is commonly darker, higher viscosity, denser, tackier and more flexible than paraffin waxes.
Depending on the different crude-oil source, method and the degree of refinement, microcrystalline waxes vary widely in performance and characteristics. The color of microcrystalline waxes is from creamy white to dark brown. For the fine crystal structure, the decolorization is not easy. Because of its branched chain component, It has elastic and adhesive characteristics.
