KIWO MILD PRESS WASH

MILD PRESS WASH is a quick evaporating solvent mixture used for cleaning the screen at the press when an ink change takes place or as a screen opener. It is primarily designed for use on Plastisol inks. MILD PRESS WASH will not cause solvent "lock-in" and reclaiming difficulties commonly associated with other screen openers when used on screens made with SBQ emulsions commonly used by textile printers. No oily residue after evaporation allows tape to be applied soon after use.

Application

Before cleaning the screen, remove ink from screens with a scraper or spatula. Rub both sides of the screen with a rag or a brush soaked in MILD PRESS WASH until all ink residues are completely dissolved or emulsified, and the emulsion becomes clearly visible. Finish by wiping screen with dry rag or towel to speed the drying time.

Should any ink residue remain on the screen, pour MILD PRESS WASH onto the screen and brush the screen every few minutes until the residue is dissolved. Remove the residue with a rag.

MILD PRESS WASH has strong cleaning power and may attack the frame adhesive if the screen is soaked in MILD PRESS WASH. Keep the soaking time to a minimum and if necessary, use a protective lacquer, such as KIWO’s ESTELAN B 700-05 to protect the adhesive.

Do not breathe fumes. All working areas should be well ventilated. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. It is recommended to wear protective glasses and gloves.

Environmental Protection

MILD PRESS WASH can be eliminated through biological decomposition in adapted wastewater treatment plants. The working solution (rinsed residue from the screen) can generally be emptied into the drains. Consult local authorities for local regulations.
