LanEsters strongly believe in the ethical treatment and welfare of all animals and this ethical treatment and welfare of animals is of fundamental importance in our own supply chain.

Our VEGGILANOL range of lanolin and cholesterol products are derived from wool grease, obtained by the washing of wool and this wool is only shorn from live sheep. LanEsters do not do any testing on animals. With our own longstanding and detailed knowledge and involvement with the wool growing industry, we would like to emphasize that with the ethical treatment and welfare of all animals in the supply chain, the production of lanolin brings only positive aspects for humans and animals alike. We believe it is important to draw special attention to this in an effort to address and eliminate old reservations. Lanolin and Cholesterol based products made from VEGGILANOL are now for the first time available as Vegetarian Approved, something that has not previously been available in the market.

Veggilanol Amethyst

Veggilanol Amethyst is the refined, unsaponifiable fraction of lanolin, composed of a complex mixture of cholesterol, lanosterol, agnosterol and their di-hydro derivatives plus straight and branched chain aliphatic alcohols with a mean molecular weight of approximately 370. It is produced by alkaline hydrolysis of lanolin feedstock followed by further refining. Veggilanol Amethyst is a yellow, hard, waxy solid in appearance and is one of the most powerful w/o emulsifying agents known. It finds uses in a wide variety of creams such as night creams, sports creams, hair creams and baby creams. Veggilanol Amethyst differs from the standard alcohol in that it has been distilled on a molecular still to further improve the product color and odor and conforms fully to the European Pharmacopeia. Lanolin Alcohols have been in widespread use for many years both in pharmaceutical and cosmetic uses. Their safety is well known and they feature in a number of pharmacopeia monographs throughout the world

Veggilanol Bronzeis produced from the multi-stage refining of wool grease, a natural, renewable raw material which is obtained from the scouring (washing) of raw wool. It is manufactured to fully meet the requirements of the current European Pharmacopeia and any existing national requirements for pesticide residues. The product can be used in the most exacting applications, where color, odor and purity are critical. Veggilanol Bronze has been refined to a point where trace pesticide residues are practically undetectable. The high purity, without sacrificing product color, makesitideal for use in topical pharmaceutical preparations, suppositories, lip products and baby creams or lotions. Veggilanol Diamond is a Vegetarian Society approved product that is produced from specially refined Lanolin that is subjected to low temperature fractional crystallization. It is composed of the liquid esters that partly make up Anhydrous Lanolin and can be used in many applications similar to anhydrous lanolin but gives a significant benefit in providing a lighter feel with less drag in skincare and offers the easy handling benefits of being a liquid. The feedstock for this grade of lanolin oil has been refined to remove pesticide residues to detectable levels.

Veggilanol Larimar is produced by the multi-stage refining of wool grease, a natural, renewable raw material which is obtained from the scouring (washing) of raw wool, followed by low temperature fractional crystallization. The fractional crystallization is a separation of the liquid esters or Lanolin Oil from the solid esters, or Lanolin Wax, from which it’s raw material Anhydrous Lanolin is made up of. It has similar chemical characteristics to Anhydrous Lanolin but with a higher melting point that can convey extra stability to formulations, particularly at higher temperatures. Veggilanol Lava is obtained as a by-product during the refining of pharmaceutical grade Lanolin. It has a high content of free fatty acids, free alcohol and Lanolin. Veggilanol Lava is used amongst others in the formulation of temporal anti-corrosives for the metallurgical industry, lubricant products for leathers, sheep branding paints, cutting oils and lamination oils.

Veggilanol Moonstone is an ethoxylated lanolin condensate with a mean chain length of 75 ethylene oxide units produced as a fine flake for easier handling and faster dispersion in aqueous systems. Physically, the product is a hard amber/yellow wax with a typical faint, fruity odor.Veggilanol Moonstoneis a water-soluble moisturizer and conditioner with a gentle cleansing action. It can be used as a skin and hair conditioner in a wide range of aqueous preparations such as bath foams, shampoos and conditioners, cleansing hand gels and washing up liquids. These properties are particularly useful in wet-wipe products. It produces clear solutions both in water and aqueous ethanol up to 35% concentration. The product has a long history of safe use and has been classified as non-irritating to both skin and eye in Draize tests, with acute oral toxicity being too low to measure.
