Veggilanol Sapphire is produced from the multi-stage refining of wool grease, a natural, renewable raw material which is obtained from the scouring (washing) of raw wool. Veggilanol Opal is a product obtained by refining of the wool fat. Chemically it is wax that is a mixture of esters of long chain carboxylic acids with high molecular weight alcohols. Veggilanol Amethyst is the refined, unsaponifiable fraction of lanolin, composed of a complex mixture of cholesterol, lanosterol, agnosterol and their di-hydro derivatives plus straight and branched chain aliphatic alcohols with a mean molecular weight of approximately 370. It is produced by alkaline hydrolysis of lanolin feedstock followed by further refining. Veggilanol Amethyst is a yellow, hard, waxy solid in appearance and is one of the most powerful w/o emulsifying agents known.
