Should you have a special Lanolin request, or simply wish to discuss the possibilities of Lanolin, please do not hesitate to contact us.</p><h1>ABOUT LANOLIN</h1><p>Lanolin is the name given to reﬁned Wool grease, which is also known as Wool Wax, Wool Fat and Adeps Lanae. Wool grease is a natural wax secreted by the sebaceous glands of sheep covering the wool ﬁbres. It naturally protects the sheep’s skin and wool from environmental conditions, waterprooﬁng the ﬁbres and avoiding moisture accumulation. After rigorous reﬁning processes, lanolin is obtained: a yellow unctuous product, solid at room temperature with a faint characteristic odor. To avoid confusion, the reﬁned, waterless substance is referred to as ‘Anhydrous Lanolin’. In the pharmaceutical industry, however, ‘Lanolin’ is traditionally describes as water-in-oil (w/o) emulsion, with a water content of approximately 30 % by weight.</p><h1>APPLICATIONS</h1><p>Lanolin is versatile and widely used in pharmaceutical, personal care and industrial products. Lanolin is an excellent emollient, possessing a number of important chemical and physical similarities to human&nbsp;Stratum Corneum&nbsp;Lipids. It has strong emulsifying properties, making it an important ingredient in formulations.</p><p>It is commonly used in a diversity of Creams including Breast Creams, Baby Creams, Lotions, Ointments, Plasters, Shampoos, Hair Conditioners and other cosmetic products. Industrial applications include Leather Finishing, Rust Prevention, Plasticisers, Lubricants, Adhesives and Textiles. Pharmaceutical applications include Cholesterol and Vitamin D3.</p>

LanEsters is the first company in the world to receive Vegetarian Society Approval for it‘s Anhydrous Lanolin, Lanolin Derivatives and Cholesterol range. LanEsters strongly believe in the ethical treatment and welfare of all animals and this ethical treatment and welfare of animals is of fundamental importance in our own supply chain.

Our VEGGILANOL range of lanolin and cholesterol products are derived from wool grease, obtained by the washing of wool and this wool is only shorn from live sheep. LanEsters do not do any testing on animals. With our own longstanding and detailed knowledge and involvement with the wool growing industry, we would like to emphasize that with the ethical treatment and welfare of all animals in the supply chain, the production of lanolin brings only positive aspects for humans and animals alike. We believe it is important to draw special attention to this in an effort to address and eliminate old reservations. Lanolin and Cholesterol based products made from VEGGILANOL are now for the first time available as Vegetarian Approved, something that has not previously been available in the market.

Veggilanol

Veggilanol Larimar is produced by the multi-stage refining of wool grease, a natural, renewable raw material which is obtained from the scouring (washing) of raw wool, followed by low temperature fractional crystallization. The fractional crystallization is a separation of the liquid esters or Lanolin Oil from the solid esters, or Lanolin Wax, from which it’s raw material Anhydrous Lanolin is made up of. It has similar chemical characteristics to Anhydrous Lanolin but with a higher melting point that can convey extra stability to formulations, particularly at higher temperatures. Veggilanol Larimar is suitable for personal care applications include hair creams, sports creams, ointments and lipsticks, as well as a food contact lubricant for can coatings. Veggilanol Diamond is a Vegetarian Society approved product that is produced from specially refined Lanolin that is subjected to low temperature fractional crystallization. It is composed of the liquid esters that partly make up Anhydrous Lanolin and can be used in many applications similar to anhydrous lanolin but gives a significant benefit in providing a lighter feel with less drag in skincare and offers the easy handling benefits of being a liquid. The feedstock for this grade of lanolin oil has been refined to remove pesticide residues to detectable levels.

Veggilanol Diamond

Veggilanol Moonstone is an ethoxylated lanolin condensate with a mean chain length of 75 ethylene oxide units produced as a fine flake for easier handling and faster dispersion in aqueous systems. Physically, the product is a hard amber/yellow wax with a typical faint, fruity odor.Veggilanol Moonstoneis a water-soluble moisturizer and conditioner with a gentle cleansing action. It can be used as a skin and hair conditioner in a wide range of aqueous preparations such as bath foams, shampoos and conditioners, cleansing hand gels and washing up liquids. These properties are particularly useful in wet-wipe products. It produces clear solutions both in water and aqueous ethanol up to 35% concentration. The product has a long history of safe use and has been classified as non-irritating to both skin and eye in Draize tests, with acute oral toxicity being too low to measure.

Veggilanol Moonstone

Veggilanol Amethyst is the refined, unsaponifiable fraction of lanolin, composed of a complex mixture of cholesterol, lanosterol, agnosterol and their di-hydro derivatives plus straight and branched chain aliphatic alcohols with a mean molecular weight of approximately 370. It is produced by alkaline hydrolysis of lanolin feedstock followed by further refining. Veggilanol Amethyst is a yellow, hard, waxy solid in appearance and is one of the most powerful w/o emulsifying agents known. It finds uses in a wide variety of creams such as night creams, sports creams, hair creams and baby creams. Veggilanol Amethyst differs from the standard alcohol in that it has been distilled on a molecular still to further improve the product color and odor and conforms fully to the European Pharmacopeia. Lanolin Alcohols have been in widespread use for many years both in pharmaceutical and cosmetic uses. Their safety is well known and they feature in a number of pharmacopeia monographs throughout the world

Anhydrous Lanolin Veggilanol White goldis produced from the multi-stage refining of woolgrease, a natural, renewable raw material which is obtained from the scouring (washing) of raw wool. It is manufactured to fully meet the requirements of the current European Pharmacopeia. Veggilanol White gold has been refined to a point where trace pesticide residues are practically undetectable. This ingredient has been especially designed to be used in breast creams for mothers with newly born babies. Veggilanol White gold is refined from specially selected Wool Grease sourced to be free from Nonylphenol Ethoxylates (NPEO’s) and according to standard test DIN EN ISO 18218-1, no presence of NPEO was found. Veggilanol White gold is an AllergyCertified certified, Vegetarian Society Approved raw material.

Veggilanol Whitegold

Veggilanol Onyx is an appropriate product for those industries that require a greater degree of refinement than the technical lanolins of current use, and also when is unnecessary that the product fulfills specifications of pharmaceutical use. It is characterized by its low free fatty acid content and by its low humidity content. It also has a superior limit for the color which guarantees that it will not darken the product in which it will be used.

Veggilanol Lava is obtained as a by-product during the refining of pharmaceutical grade Lanolin. It has a high content of free fatty acids, free alcohol and Lanolin. Veggilanol Lava is used amongst others in the formulation of temporal anti-corrosives for the metallurgical industry, lubricant products for leathers, sheep branding paints, cutting oils and lamination oils.

Veggilanol Sunstone Lanolin is an ethoxylated lanolin condensate with a mean chain length of 75 ethylene oxide units that has been presented as a 50% solution in water. To obtain a low viscosity product, the process is carried out to produce a higher glycol content, making the liquid product easier to handle. At room temperature the product is a clear yellow/ amber, mobile liquid that can be handled without any heating being required. Veggilanol Sunstone Lanolin is a non-ionic surfactant which has emulsifying, solubilizing , wetting and cleansing properties. It is also a water-soluble moisturizer and conditioner with a gentle cleansing action. It can be used as a skin and hair conditioner in a wide range of aqueous preparations such as bath foams, shampoos and conditioners, cleansing hand gels and washing up liquids. The product has a long history of safe use.

It is a highly complex mixture of fatty acids. It is produced by alkaline saponification of wool wax of chosen origin and then extraction and acid treatment is performed.
