Filtrez™ 531 A is an alcohol soluble fumaric acid modified rosin ester with a high softening point and moderately high acid value. Filtrez™ 531 A can be used in solvent and water-based flexographic and in gravure inks. This resin can also be used as a leveling and gloss-promoting agent in floor polishes.

Filtrez 530 A has good solubility and low viscosity in alcohol and aqueous ammonia solutions, which contributes to high gloss in overprint varnishes. Filtrez™ 3320 A is a maleic modified rosin ester made for ink and nitrocellulose lacquer systems that have low aromatic solvents. Filtrez™ 3320 A is considered suitable for use in gravure and flexographic inks and coatings.

Terlon™ 3010 A is a linseed-based alkyd. Terlon 3010 A is known for its excellent pigment wetting ability and fast hard-drying properties. Terlon 3010 A alkyd is an essential ingredient in many oilbased printing inks. This alkyd’s ability to develop and maintain color strength with minimal bronzing and to provide flow and leveling where required make Terlon 3010 A an important formulating tool. Terlon 3010 A is very compatible with most ink vehicles and serves to stabilize ink formulations that do not hold up on long runs. Metal decorating inks based on this alkyd bake very fast and form hard abrasion-resistant, glossy surfaces.

Setaprint™ 7502 A is a high viscosity, high molecular weight phenolic modified rosin resin exhibiting a high tolerance for low KB ink oils. The high viscosity of Setaprint 7502 A improves lithographic performance when modifying less soluble resin systems. A unique blend of viscosity and aliphatic solubility, combined with excellent compatibility with drying oils makes Setaprint 7502 A ideal for high speed, high performance ink vehicles.

Filtrez™ 629 A is a medium viscosity phenolic modified rosin ester with low solubility in aliphatic solvents. Filtrez 629 A is designed as a workhorse resin which exhibits good gel reactivity with aluminum chelating agents. This resin is a good backbone resin for sheetfed and heatset applications.

Terlon™ 613 A is a soybean oil alkyd. It can carry and print a higher load of pigment than bodied oils and conventional alkyds. Terlon 613 A shows good color retention characteristics and hence is recommended for use in heat induced drying applications. Terlon 613 A dries by oxidation and forms a flexible film. While drying times are slower than pure linseed oil based alkyds, initial odor and odor development during oxidation are markedly reduced. Terlon 613 A offers a very effective cost/quality ratio.

The high melting point promotes fast solvent release and good leveling properties, and is compatible with shellac and Manila copal resins. Hydro-Rez 5614 A is recommended for use in solvent or water-based flexographic inks. This resin is also recommended for use in mineral spirit varnishes.

Setaprint™ 2243 A is a moderately soluble, high viscosity free resin which exhibits excellent solvent release for fast setting and good holdout. Setaprint 2243 A has excellent compatibility with drying oils and it gives varnishes a hard, scuff resistant surface.

Filtrez™ 526 A is an alcohol soluble fumaric acid modified rosin ester. Filtrez 526 A has a low amine requirement due to its low acid value, thereby enhancing faster dry. This resin generates a high viscosity in water, thus allowing for lower resin solids in the final ink, and in this way providing improved economics.

Eco-Rez 468 A provides the necessary viscosity, set speed, and gloss for an ink vehicle application. This ester also yields high gloss and good rub resistance, making Eco-Rez 468 A ideal for overprint varnishes.

Setaprint™ 2390 A is designed to have higher dilution in low KB ink solvents. This resin has medium viscosity to yield ink vehicles with excellent setting and holdout properties for maximum gloss and hardness. Setaprint 2390 A is very versatile, combining high performance and consistency in most ink vehicle systems.

Setaprint™ 2316 A is a medium viscosity phenolic modified rosin ester with good aliphatic solubility. Setaprint 2316 A promotes a hard, scuff resistant surface in many ink vehicle systems. This resin has also provided excellent low shear flow properties, especially in yellows.
