Lipomoist™ molecular films contain polysaccharides, including xanthan gum, a natural occurring high molecular weight biopolymer. These polymers have multiple hydroxyl groups that are able to interact with each other and with the stratum corneum by intra- and inter-chains of hydrogen bonds to form a continuous film on the skin surface.

Lipomoist™ molecular films are moisturizing, confer a pleasant feeling and may act as a delivery system of the specific ingredients included. The inherent moisturizing effect of Lipomoist™ molecular films is due to the water binding capacity of the polysaccharides. They form an occlusive film which is able to have a great contact surface with the skin, minimizing the transepidermal water loss (TEWL).
