Tykote 1005 is a styrene-butadiene emulsion polymer designed as a base resin for functional barrier coatings. Tykote 1005 provides high strength and pigment compatibility. This low surfactant containing copolymer can be used to compound functional coatings exhibiting superior water and water vapor resistance. This firm polymer also gives rise to blocking resistant coatings. Tykote 1005 exhibits excellent mechanical stability and can be applied to a variety of substrates using many different application methods.
