Features & Benefits

Product Highlights
  • Mavcoat® mold release coatings bring the release power of the aerospace industry to the fiberglass world by providing a semi-permanent, multiple release system with just a single coat. Together with our cleaners, sealers, and mold release coatings operators have a system that meets all their mold preparation needs.
  • It is critical to maintain the quality of a mold’s finish to ensure excellent surface cosmetics of finished parts. As a result, every Maverix mold cleaner has been engineered to remove resin buildup from tools without attack and with minimal abrasion even on the finish of class A finished molds. Depending on your need or preference solvent-based and water-based formulations are available.
  • Even after significant time and curing, composites molds are very porous. Sealers act to fill these microscopic crevasses that can act as mechanical binding sites. Sealers are “insurance” for mold release coatings so parts have little to no chance of sticking. Sealing a mold also increases tool life by becoming part of the tool itself and acts as an interface to accept the mold release coating.
  • Mavcoat® release coatings produce superior concrete finishes, meet stringent California environmental regulations, and provide the best technology and most economical way to produce visually pleasing concrete for interior and exterior applications. They are available in various chemistries that are specially formulated for the release of glass-fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC), pre-cast, and composite reinforced concrete from molds made of polyurethane, silicone, rubber, epoxy, and fiberglass.
  • Recycled rubber is used in many flooring applications and so Mavcoat® release coatings do not transfer to the finished flooring to avoid contamination with mold release residue.
  • Mavcoat® is engineered to withstand the high pressures generally associated with the compression molding operation under which re-bonded crumb rubber products are made.
  • Mavcoat® has many unique properties, one of which is the ability to provide superior release without impeding bonding between binder and rubber particles, which is critical to producing a long-lasting part. Ultimately, Mavcoat® bonds to the mold’s metal surface to yield an easy release of parts made from re-bonded crumb rubber.
  • The innovative technology behind Mavcoat® release agents provide chemistry that optimizes production by effectively releasing all polyurethane binders using non-hazardous, water-based solutions that are safe for operators to use.
  • Mavcoat® Rotational Mold Release Coatings meet the unique challenges of today's rotational molders, such as shorter cycles using higher temperatures to speed production and highly engineered molds with exacting tolerances.
  • Mavcoat® rotational mold release agents do not transfer because they wet the surface of the mold uniformly and have a greater affinity for the mold surface than the finished part.
  • In most cases, this eliminates white film on finished parts yielding excellent cosmetics right out of the mold, which reduces or eliminates the need to torch parts.
  • Mavcoat® is a ready-to-use mold release chemistry designed to increase productivity and provide value to the manufacturing process.
  • Mavcoat® rotational mold release coatings contain proprietary antistatic compounds that prevent pigments from streaking, accumulating, or swirling due to static electricity buildup during the rotational molding cycle. This is particularly important when molding today's granite finishes. The use of Mavcoat release coatings allows granite colors and patterns to come out separated and clear. And parts with heavy pigment loads such as dark browns or greens appear uniform.
  • Mavcoat® mold release coatings meet the unique challenges of today's rotational molders, such as shorter cycles using higher temperatures to speed production and highly engineered molds with exacting tolerances. With Mavcoat, customers achieve multiple releases, no transfer, reduced pigment build-up, lower scrap rates, better cosmetics, increased productivity, and the safety of a water-based system.
