MICOROX® 103 PRIMER

1 of 10 products in this brand
MICOROX® 103 PRIMER is a multipurpose primer and sealer, based upon a unique chemistry that allows the application of other MICOROX products, including resurfaces, liners, and coatings to green concrete. MICOROX® 103 PRIMER is applied to eliminate the conventional 28-day cure time by deeply penetrating into the pores of the fresh concrete surface, and bonding securely to the concrete and the overlayment as well. This primer/sealer provides substantial savings in both cost and downtime. MICOROX® 103 PRIMER is an ideal substitute for curing compounds, hardeners, or sealants for new concrete because it prevents the rapid dehydration of new concrete and eliminates concrete dusting, resulting in a better cure and higher concrete strengths.

Applications & Uses

Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
Applications

MICOROX® 103 PRIMER designed for use with green concrete. The major advantage of using this primer is that it does not inhibit the adhesion of subsequently applied toppings. The new concrete cures completely while the overlay remains securely locked to it without the cracking, blistering or disbonding problems associated with topping green concrete.

Usage
  • Immediate overlayıng of new concrete surfaces
  • As a wall board sealant.
  • Seals new or old concrete floors
  • A substitute for concrete curing compounds.
  • To bond coatings to new concrete.
  • To eliminate flash rusting of steel.
  • To strengthen existing concrete
  • Over new cementitious grouts or caps used to pitch grade or fill existing surfaces.
Surface Preparation

New Concrete : Use standard Portland cement (type 1) or high early strength (type 3) concrete without additives. hardeners, curing agents or sealers. Surface must be set so it can be walked on (usually overnight) and must be free of surface dirt, oil spills, etc.

Existing Concrete :Clean and prepare the concrete by mechanical means and /or acid-etch until all foreign matter has been removed. A rough surface is desired to provide an effective bonding profile. Sweep out, vacuum or absorb any standing water. A damp surface is acceptable however standing water will prevent penetration of the material.

Application
  • Mix the MICOROX® 103 PRIMER material by combining T Part A Resin and 2 Parts B Hardener. The volume ratio is 1 part resin to 2 parts hardener, (i.e.. combine % gal. Part A Resin with 1 gal. Part BHardener). Combine thoroughly for three minutes with mixer. When thoroughly mixed to a uniform consistency the material must stand for 15 minutes (induction time) before using.
  • Following the induction time, pour the 103 onto the surface in a ribbon about 8 to 10 inches wide along the starting edge of the wall. Roller, brush or squeegee the 103 out over the surface to a thin coat of about 3 mils wet film thickness.
  • When overlaying with Micor Floor Resurfacers, Linings or Coatings allow the 103 to cure to a tack free finish. Generally 6 hours at 77° F or longer at lower temperatures.

Working Life : One hour at 77°F.

Coverage: 250 sq. ft./gal.

Temperature Limitations

During the installation and cure, maintain surface temperatures between 60° F and 80° F. Lower temperatures will affect cure time.
