Energy Booster® MERGE HM

1 of 5 products in this brand
Energy Booster® MERGE HM is a rumen-inert fat supplement containing 96% total fatty acids (TFAs). Manufactured in Paris, Illinois, it’s a small particle prill that’s highly palatable and digestible, can be top-dressed or blended in a ration. With a patented manufacturing process, EB MERGE HM has a higher melt point that provides better handling. 55% of the TFAs are Palmitic (C16:0), helping achieve higher butterfat yield by taking advantage of cow’s natural tendency to divert more of this TFAs toward milk fat. Stearic (C18:0) and Oleic (C18:1) are included to provide the 18 carbon TFAs early-lactation high-milk cows need to maximize energy corrected milk and maintain body condition. Including C18:1 Oleic at 10% helps ensure good digestibility.

Features & Benefits

Product Highlights

IDEAL FOR DAIRY CUSTOMERS WHO:
Want one fat that fits the needs of all their cows (early, mid and late lactation)

Recognize fatty acid balance drives performance and have these goals:

  • Higher Butterfat
  • Maximum Energy-Corrected Milk
  • Maintain cow condition

Avoid products that:

  • Reduce DMI of early-lactation, high-milk and heat-stressed cows.
  • Cause excessive loss of body condition if fed to early-lactation cows.

Need a product that handles well in feed mill or on farm:

  • Patented process, provides melting point.
  • Better conveyance in upright auger bins.
  • Less chance of melting when exposed to sunlight in high-temperature climates.

Feeding Directions

Feed to the whole herd or specific groups when additional energy is required, and shifting of energy toward milk fat yield and energy-corrected milk (while maintaining cow condition) is a priority. Typical feeding rate is 0.5 lb. to 0.75 lb. per cow, per day, depending on specific situations and goals.

As always, use caution when feeding distillers, grains and/or oil seeds which are high in rumen-available unsaturated fatty acid (RUFAs) and can lead to milk fat depression (MFD).

FOR BEST RESULTS

  • Restrict the use of free fats (tallow & grease) to 1.0% or less of DMI.
  • Restrict the amount of fat from cottonseed, soybeans and corn (DDG) to less than 1.0% of DMI.
  • Feed EB MERGE HM up to 1.5% of DMI.
  • Keep total fat concentration in the diet below 7.0% DM, or below 4.5 lb. per cow, per day.
