Applications & Uses

Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
Uses

ShieldSys™ 346 is formulated to provide unmatched utility in wire jacket removal, over-molding, and release due to its high lubricity and non-stick properties.

Recommended Application Procedure
  •  Dipping and Flooding – The easiest and most widely used method. A wiper system should be used to strip off excess amounts, ensuring a thin, even coating over the entire length of substrate.
  •  Spraying – Particularly effective in depositing a very thin coating with excellent adhesion. This system can be used with an automated or hand spray gun.
  •  Wiping or Brushing – Very effective for coating small amounts of selected areas on a wire or cable.

Storage and Handling

The precautions used in handling ShieldSys™ 346 release coating are the same as those used in handling most coatings in industrial use. Contact with the skin should be avoided. If spraying, care should be taken to avoid inhaling mist or vapors, just as sprayed paint inhalation should be avoided.

If this product is exposed to extreme heat conditions from misuse or equipment failure, toxic decomposition products that include hydrogen fluoride can occur. Always wash hands after handling ShieldSys™ 346 coating.

Shelf-Life

ShieldSys™ 346 has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of shipment.
