BioPBS™ BO-FD92PM/PB is produced through a biaxially oriented process using BioPBS™ FD92PM. FD92PM is a bio-based polybutylene succinate adipate (PBSA) created by polymerizing bio-based succinic acid, 1,4-butanediol, and adipic acid. This product is primarily derived from renewable resources, making it highly biodegradable and compostable. BioPBS™ FZ91PM/PB is bio-based polybutylene succinate (PBS) produced from polymerization of bio-based succinic acid and 1,4-butanediol. Alike LDPE, BioPBSTM is soft and flexible semi-crystalline polyester with excellent properties suitable for blown and cast film extrusion.

Middle 1,2 - Butanediol (M1,2 - BG) is a versatile liquid glycol classified under the glycol chemical family. Serving as a solvent and monomer in various applications, it is a key component in the production of polyester resins, surfactants, plasticizers, and polyester polyols. Recognized for its hygroscopic features, this base chemical is available in packaging options such as drums and cans. Widely employed in industrial processes, it significantly contributes to resin manufacturing, especially in the development of high-quality inkjet inks for the printing and packaging markets.

Ertalyte® Sterra™ PET is an unreinforced, semi-crystalline grade that is produced from proprietary resin grades made by Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials. Characterized by its excellent wear resistance, low coefficient of friction, high strength, and resistance to moderately acidic solutions, this grade is capable of sustaining high loads and retains more of its original strength up to 180°F (85°C) than nylons or acetals. Due to these characteristics, Ertalyte® Sterra™ PET components are a favored solution for bearing and structural applications throughout the pharmaceutical, food processing and packaging, and oil and gas industries. As part of the Sterra™ product portfolio, this material contains recycled content and exhibits a significantly lower carbon footprint compared to similar materials derived from non-recycled feedstocks.

PBST SA916N is designed to be used as a raw material for compostable compounds, especially for film applications. The use of the product as the main raw material for the resin composition allows the product to achieve a high degree of bio-based carbon content as well as high tear and puncture strength. PBST SA916N is for non-food contact applications.
