CoatOSil™ 3501 coatings additive is the Momentive Performance Materials most powerful friction reducing agent, providing the maximum in coefficient of friction (COF) reduction for radiation-cured formulations in its portfolio of coatings additives. And this additive isn’t one-dimensional; it also functions as an extremely effective defoamer, especially in aqueous systems. And it enhances slip and mar resistance in waterborne, water-reducible and conventional and high-solids solvent systems.

CoatOSil™ DRI waterborne silicone resin can help reduce water uptake and improve UV resistance in organic waterborne coating compositions. Its chemical structure enables CoatOSil™ DRI waterborne silicone resin to overcome the difficulties of combining silicone materials with organic waterborne resins. CoatOSil™ DRI waterborne silicone resin has been shown to improve hydrophobicity and elongation properties when used as a co-binder with acrylic latexes, resulting in more flexible coatings and sealants. CoatOSil™ DRI waterborne silicone resin can also be considered as a sole binder when maximum thermal and UV stability is a priority. When applied alone, CoatOSil™ DRI waterborne silicone resin cures at room temperature to form an elastomeric film.

Enhancing the physical properties of water-borne dispersion polymers, such as polyurethane and acrylic latexes, CoatOSil™ 2287 silane enables the formulation of coatings with good shelf stability, improved wet adhesion and enhanced resistance to water and organic solvents. This non-yellowing additive can be considered as an adhesion promoter or crosslinker.

CoatOSil™ 3505 coatings additive is an excellent candidate for coating formulations that require an array of benefits. Its silicone portion can provide enhancements that include: defoaming, slip; mar resistance, plus, flow and leveling. Comprised of a silicone backbone and an all polypropylene oxide (PO) polyether chain. The degree of property enhancement will be directly related to the interaction of all components of the formulation and the additive use-level.

CoatOSil™ 3573 coatings additive can provide a high level of slip and mar resistance in water-borne coatings. In addition to promoting excellent slip properties in water borne formulations, CoatOSil™ 3573 coatings additive can aid in defoaming in solvent-borne coating formulations.

CoatOSil™ 1770 silane can benefit from better adhesion, improved appearance, and longer retention of functional and esthetic properties. As a cycloaliphatic epoxy silane, CoatOSil™ 1770 silane can deliver crosslinking in latex under room or elevated temperature cure conditions. Through crosslinking, CoatOSil™ 1770 silane can improve the solvent, stain and weather resistance of the final coating.

CoatOSil™ 7500 copolymer is a silicone-polyether block copolymer that can help provide excellent flow and leveling in a variety of solvent borne and coil coating applications. It is an excellent candidate for coil coatings such as pre-painted metal applications.

CoatOSil™ 1211C coatings additive helps enable wetting of waterborne systems on common and hard-to-wet substrates. The product's nonfoaming characteristics and superwetting properties make it an excellent candidate to consider for coatings applied by spray or high-speed roll methods. CoatOSil™ 1211C coatings additive applications may include coatings for plastic films and components, wood and glass coatings. May improve results on less than optimal prepared surfaces.

CoatOSil™ 7604B coatings additive is a silicone copolymer with a pendant ethylene oxide side chain that can enable excellent wetting and recoatability in water-borne coatings and inks. For water-borne primers and other industrial coatings, CoatOSil™ 7604B coatings additive is a good candidate where wetting and recoatability are a principal requirement.

CoatOSil™ P576 Medium-hard high solid phenylmethyl silicone resin in solvent. Binder for anticorrosion coatings with thermal stability up to 600°C. The main potential fi elds of application are the coating of machine components, engine manifolds, car exhaust silencers, drying units etc. These applications commonly use one-coat fi nishes. Systems of this kind may also be utilized in the sealing of spray-metallized surfaces.

In addition to providing silicone lubricity, CoatOSil™ DSA 6 friction modifier has a lower specific gravity than conventional inorganic fine powders and typically has superior heat and chemical resistance as compared with conventional organic fine powders.
