- Properties and Applications
AGITAN 701 is particularly well suited for water reducible systems. It is also recommended for aqueous emulsion systems.
Main applications:
- Architectural coatings
- Emulsion plasters
- Building materials
- Industrial and wood coatings
- Printing inks
- Adhesives
- Recommended Levels and Use
Normal dosage ranges from 0.1 to 0.5 % on finished product. Ladder studies are recommended to determine optimum concentration. AGITAN 701 is typically added undiluted during pigment grinding for optimum distribution and de-aeration. For most efficient use 2/3 of AGITAN 701 is added to the pigment dispersion and 1/3 is added to the letdown. Dilution of AGITAN 701 in solvents of the formulation may improve dispersion. In low viscosity systems AGITAN 701 is recommended if high levels of wetting agents are present or high shear is applied which assists the incorporation of the defoamer.

- Storage and Handling
AGITAN 701 is not sensitive to freezing, but for better handling it should be stored between 15 and 25 °C. As the product tends to slightly separate it must be mixed before use. The minimum shelf life in closed containers is 15 months from the date of manufacture.
