- Performances and Features
- Effectively improve the viscosity of formulas.
- The product itself is low-viscosity emulsion, and is easy to handle.
- Nonionic and anionic surfactants with low HLB value
- Synergetic thickening with anionic and nonionic surfactants.
- Endow the product with pseudoplastic fluid performances.
- Can be used in a variety of cleaning formula systems, and also in latex paint and coating systems
- Effectively thickening when pH>7.0
- Alcoguard® 5800 can be used for thickening of various neutral and alkaline systems. When the pH is above 7, the viscosity of the system increases rapidly, as shown in the figure on the right; inorganic metal bases such as NaOH, KOH, etc., or amines such as ammonia water, etc. can serve as the neutralizing agent, and the thickening effect of NaOH is slightly higher than that of amine alkaline substances.
- Alcoguard® 5800 can also be used in surfactant systems, and it plays a role of synergistic thickening in anionic surfactants and low HLB nonionics.
- Alcoguard® 5800 can be used to thicken medium- and high-concentration electrolyte systems, such as NaOH-based formula systems. Compared to competitors, this product has excellent electrolyte tolerance and can tolerate up to 20% NaOH solution.

- ALCOGUARD 5800 is an associative acrylic rheology modifierdesigned to function in dispersions or detergents with high levels ofsurfactants or electrolytes that adversely affect other thickeners. Whenneutralized to a pH above 7.0,
- ALCOGUARD 5800 exhibits highlyefficient thickening and stabilization performance in a variety ofaqueous systems. In some detergents the thickening effect may beachieved at pH significantly below 7 with the proper formulationtechnique. Incorporate ALCOGUARD 5800 with mixing as last ingredient prior toneutralization.
- Thickener may be diluted with water to facilitateincorporation in highly viscous formulations. Thickening occurs whenthe pH of the formulation is raised above a pH of 7.0. Rheology modifier for surfactant systems.
