The sols are essentially chloride free and other impurities are low. These products are used as binders for high temperature refractories and ceramics, catalyst wash-coats, catalyst formulation, precision polishing and paper coating.
Figure 1 shows a typical particle size curve using a Malvern Zetasizer. Figure 2 shows the typical XRD pattern for the boehmite after drying at 105°C.
