ORG CHEM Group Sulfolane - 99 is an organic solvent predominantly used as an extraction solvent for BTX or aromatic removal from hydrocarbon feed streams but is also used in sour gas sweetening, (i.e., removal of acid gasses from a natural gas stream). Due to its combination of physical and chemical properties, Sulfolane® has been used in a variety of new applications including as an extraction distillation solvent, polymer solvent, polymer plasticizer, polymerization solvent, and in electronic/electrical applications and dyestuff intermediates.
