Trapylen® 130 X is a chemically modified low chlorinated polypropylene with outstanding affinity to polyolefinic plastics such as PP, PP/EPDM-blends and, with limitations to adhesion strength, to PE.

- Main Uses
- Trapylen® 130 X is used either as a straight primer or as an adhesion promoter for base coats and pigmented primers.
- Trapylen® 130 X principal use is in paintings/coatings for molded parts and sealing profiles in the automotive industry, such as bumpers, side panels and door seals.
- Trapylen® 130 X can also be used in adhesives and flocking agents for door seals.
- Trapylen® 130 X is used in industrial applications where PP based plastics are chemically pretreated.
- Applications
- Using Trapylen® 130 X as a primer dissolve the resin in xylene to 5% solids.
- Trapylen® 130 X primer can be applied by spraying, dipping, brushing or printing.
- Drying conditions: 30 s at 80 °C, residual quantity of resin about 3...4 g/m².
- When using Trapylen® 130 X as adhesion promoter in base coats/pigmented primers, the compatibility of the system must be checked.
- The resulting base coat can be applied by spraying, dipping, brushing or printing if the system allows it.

- Gel formation is possible at lower temperatures.
- Before use it is strictly recommended to keep the drums at 40 - 50 °C for a while until the solution returns to liquid phase.
- Gel formation is reversible and has no influence on the product ́s quality. Both available with 5 % or 10 % solids and dry resin.
