Applications & Uses

Plastics & Elastomers End Uses
Applications
  • Impact modifier for nylon alloys and filled PE compounds.
  • Compatibilizer for polar and non-polar matrix by improving interfacial adhesion between them.
Processing Conditions
  • OPTIM® E-142 can be added to nylons to achieve good dispersion of fillers within the polymer matrix thereby obtaining best properties.
  • Maximum processing temperature should not generally exceed 290°C.
  • At temperatures above 290°C, these specialty polymers can evolve low concentrations of fumes.
  • If overheated, more extensive decomposition may occur due to exposure of overheated polymers to atmospheric oxygen.
  • Adequate local ventilation should be provided to remove the fumes from the work area under such conditions.
