- Septic Tanks / Septic Systems: Use 2 to 4 quarts of L-300 for the initial treatment per 500 gallons of tank capacity. The monthly maintenance dose should be 1 pint for each 5 people using the system per 500 gallons of capacity. Treat drain fields and leach beds by pouring directly into the distribution boxes or vents. SINKS, FLOOR Drains, Urinals And Toilets: Use 2 ounces of L- 300 once per week in every drain and allow to work overnight. For drains that receive large amounts of organic matter (kitchen and floor drains, laundry sinks and drains), increase the treatment to 4 to 6 ounces, as often as every other day. For best results, treat at the end of day or other period of lowest flow. To prevent loosened debris from causing obstructions, always begin the treatment program by treating the lower floors first. Bleach, harsh drain openers and disinfectants may kill the bacteria. Allow several hours after the use of these products, then retreat with digestant.
- Grease Traps: For average size grease traps (about 20 cubic feet capacity), add one quart directly to trap or through drain. Then use one pint per week for maintenance.
- Wet Wells And Lift Stations: Add 1 quart of L-300 per 500 cubic feet directly into wet well. SEWER LATERALS: Laterals are treated during periods of low flow by adding through manholes. Dosage per unit length of lateral will vary with the diameter of the line:
